Amanda Frankel, MCHC Master’s Intern, QMHP (OR)
My work is grounded in acceptance, authenticity, compassion, creativity, trust, humor, and safety. Transformation can be messy, intimidating, confusing, and even scary. It can also be exciting and beautiful. I will support you through this journey to find healing and access to the kind of life you want to live. I see my role to be a facilitator, guide, and collaborator with you on your path to inner wisdom and self-discovery. I value building a strong therapeutic relationship from which we can explore that which no longer serves your well-being and develop skills and insights that do. I specialize in Restoration Therapy, mindfulness, gestalt and somatic practices, attachment, resilience, and self-compassion.
I am currently pursuing a master's degree in mental health counseling at Naropa University. As a student of mindfulness and transpersonal studies, the modalities I offer support you to become more aware of thoughts and behaviors through such practices as mindful attunement, breathwork, and meditation techniques. I welcome spirituality of all kinds, and in session, we might explore dreams, higher power, mysticism, or other ways you find meaning. As a former environmental educator, I also deeply believe in the restorative powers of nature. Whether through adventure, play, gardening, or simply sitting by a creek - experiences in and with nature offer opportunities for us to come to a broader perspective and witness our resilience. My background, experience, and values weave together into a therapeutic approach that is embodied, curious, and creative. If this resonates with you, please reach out to set up a consultation.
In my spare time, you can find me exploring Oregon’s backcountry with my dog Sitka, reading a book by the creek, seeing live music, or slowly drinking a good cup of coffee, preferably in the mountains.
